MyKasih Orientation (March 27, 2010)

The implementation of MyKasih programme using the MyKad begins with the selection of qualified families with the assistance of the NGO supporting the community.

As our recipients are not accustomed to the use of a payment terminal, an orientation is essential. On March 27, 2010, MyKasih team was in Sekolah Menengah St. Xavier in Penang, to take our new recipients through a step-by-step guide on 'how to' make a purchase using their MyKad at participating retail outlet.

Mostly the mothers were guided through the process; from the selection of items approved under the programme to the time when a receipt is produced indicating the total amount spent, as well as the available balance.

Each recipient family received a user guide which outlines the list of approved essential food items and a reference sequencing the steps of making a purchase.

At the end of the session, recipients were able to understand a complete process of making a purchase themselves, thanks to the user friendliness of the system supporting the MyKasih programme.

Commenting on the orientation, recipients were thankful for selecting them to take part in the MyKasih programme. The Foundation would like to thank the Lions Club of Georgetown and teachers of St. Xavier for the helping hand.
