Health Screening (March 28, 2010)
Money can't but you Good Health... Honestly
The cost of even a very basic health screening would burn a hole in the pockets of our recipient families.
80 members of MyKasih recipient families took the opportunity to attend a basic health screening exercise held at Dewan Pangsapuri Enggang in Puchong on March 28, 2010. The programme was co-organised with the Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Kiara.
As part of the MyKasih rehabilitation programme, the health screening provided a status check on vision, the Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure. Also made available was blood test. Female members were taught how to perform a breast self examination.
The health screening was carried out to inform and make recipients aware of their health condition. This is especially so with check on eye sight. Some of the children discovered they had problem with good eye sight and require prescription glasses.
Some of the feedback gathered;
- Screening made them aware of their health condition
- Never knew their children needed to use glasses
Many thanks to our friends from Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Kiara for overseeing the screening!
