MyKasih Children at F1 (April 2, 2010)
April 2, 2010, MyKasih Foundation had the privilege of taking four children of MyKasih programme recipient families' to the Petronas Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in Sepang. It was indeed a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience an F1 race, live. Even more so, a visit to the pit garage of the Lotus F1 racing team was never imagined before, let alone an exclusive tour of it.
The encounter of being in the heart of such a pulsating international motorsports event was very overwhelming for the Form four and five students. They had a great time!
The students had this to share;
- Nur Hasanah Binti Sudirman of SMK Selayang Baru)
- I was very excited to be chosen for the Pit Walkabout at the Sepang International Circuit. I like to explore new things in life. I am especially interested in the world of engineering. The tour of the Lotus pit garage has motivated me even more to pursue automotive engineering. I think it will be fun to be an automotive engineer. Thanks to MyKasih and 1Malaysia Foundation for the exclusive tour of the pit!
- Haffizon Bin Tahir of SMK Bandar Baru Sentul
- It was a dream come true. With the tour of the Lotus garage and the brief explanation by the engineers, I have a better understanding of the automotive engineering field and the prospect that it offers in the world of Formula One racing teams. I think my liking towards Maths and Physics subjects will contribute a lot in my quest to become an engineer. My sincere gratitude to MyKasih and 1Malaysia Foundation for making my F1 dream come true.
- V.Kuganeswary a/p Vijiyan of SMK Seksyen 3, Bandar Kinrara
- Thank you for the opportunity given to me to visit the Sepang F1 Circuit. It was a different world altogether. The spectators came from all over the world. This really promotes tourism in our country. I am keen in technical studies. F1 racing has broadened my mind in technical areas I can opt to in the future. My appreciation to MyKasih and 1Malaysia Foundation for the great opportunity they gave me.
- Mohd Faizul bin Jailani of SMK Seksyen 3, Bandar Kinrara
- Was I dreaming? It certainly felt like it. I used to take a peek at the F1 races from the roads outside the circuit. I finally had the opportunity to go into the Sepang F1 circuit and watch the qualifying race. It was amazing! I really enjoyed it. I met people from different parts of the world at the race. Since I am interested in mechanical engineering, the visit to the Sepang International Circuit has opened my eyes to the prospects in various engineering fields that are available. Thank you MyKasih, thank you 1Malaysia Foundation!
Yayasan 1Malaysia has been very supportive of our cause. Thank you very much indeed. We are very grateful!
