I'm In Control (April 3, 2010)

MyKasih with our training partner, LPPKN (National Population and Family Development Board) recently conducted a training entitled "I'm in Control"

The objective is to increase the awareness of teenagers on the danger of engaging in unhealthy activities. The training hopes to empower participants to say 'NO' to pre-marital sex and unscrupulous behaviour.

The session took place on April 3, 2010, at Dewan Pangsapuri Enggang, Puchong. We were very pleased to see children of our recipient families between the ages of 15 and 18 years gave up their weekend to attend the workshop.

A total of 20 participants took part where we encouraged and promoted interaction and teamwork throughout the session. The topics discussed included:-

Definition and elements of sexuality
Responsibility to sexually related matters
Abstinence
Awareness of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, AIDS and others

At the end of the programme, participants presented what they understood about the module and their thoughts of the programme. We also managed to gather some comments;

"We learnt a lot"

"Encouraged us to interact more with other races and develop team spirit"

"Girls are more empowered to say 'NO' to sex"

"Taught participants how to skilfully say 'NO' to sexual advances and unacceptable behaviour"

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our training partner, LPPKN Selangor for their support and the successful execution of the programme. We certainly look forward to working with them again in the near future.
