Healthy Aging (May 12, 2010)

MyKasih continues to educate and inform recipient families through programmes co-organised with training partner LPPKN (National Population and Family Development Board). In celebration of Mothers' Day, it was apt to present a topic about common health issues faced by mothers. Named 'Healthy Info', the latest programme was especially tailored for mothers of MyKasih recipient families. It discussed the topic s of healthy aging as well as adopting healthy living in anticipation of those menopausal years.

20 mothers of MyKasih recipient families from Jinjang took part in the programme. Sister Ruslaini Ahmad, presenter from LPPKN shared basic information on menopause and mammogram. She also highlighted the availability of subsidised mammogram at private health provider centres registered with LPPKN.

The objective of this health talk is to inform participants of personal well being in general, increase their awareness of reproductive illnesses and other lifestyle related ailments such as diabetes, heart disease and others.

We believe our participants are better informed and hopefully encouraged to take advantage of the subsidised health services available as it is never too late to practise healthy lifestyle.

MyKasih team would like to thank LPPKN Wilayah Persekutuan for their support in moderating the session and providing transportation for the participants.
