In efforts to alleviate the rising cost of living, a targeted fuel subsidy system for RON95 petrol has been introduced by the government called BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) for Malaysian citizens. Eligible Malaysian citizens with active driving licenses will automatically benefit from a subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre, compared to the current RM2.05. Non-citizens and those not eligible will pay an unsubsidised rate estimated at RM2.60 per litre.<\/p>\n

The government aims to redistribute savings from this initiative into public welfare programs like Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah<\/em> (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahma<\/em>h (SARA), while continuing to prioritise improvements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The government advises citizens to ensure their MyKad chip and driving license are valid.

What is MyKasih\u2019s role in this programme?<\/h3>\n

MyKasih has been appointed by the Government of Malaysia as one of the service providers under BUDI95 to provide the mechanism that facilitates checking of eligibility criteria at the central database of the Government of Malaysia, using the on-site Electronic Data Capture (EDC) Terminals and MyKad at the cashier\/convenience store of participating petrol station. This mechanism does not handle or process payments.<\/p>\n
