What is PRIHATIN Kasih? PRIHATIN Kasih is a provision of cashless food aid under the PEMERKASA stimulus package announced by Prime Minister YAB Tan Sri Dato Seri Haji Mahiaddin Bin Haji Md Yassin in March 2021. The objective of PRIHATIN Kasih is to help with the cost of living for the poor and urban poor.
Who is eligible to receive PRIHATIN Kasih cashless food aid? Recipients are PRE-SELECTED and identified through the Welfare Department (JKM) and the e-Kasih database and have been verified against the BPR data. Eligible recipients will receive an SMS from MyKasih informing them of their confirmed status as a recipient under the programme, as well as the date and time for the orientation briefing session at the nearest participating retail outlet.
Do I need to apply for PRIHATIN Kasih cashless food aid? Recipients have already been selected from the government’s database. Therefore, APPLICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
How is the PRIHATIN Kasih programme implemented? Once the recipients have been approved and registered onto the programmes, accounts will be opened against the recipient’s Mykad in our system into which a spending allowance will be deposited. Recipients will receive a monthly allowance of RM 100 for three (3) months from MyKasih Foundation through their MyKad to purchase essential food items. Designated retail outlets participating in the cashless food aid programme have MyKasih’s payment system infrastructure set up within their premises.

How much will PRIHATIN Kasih recipients receive under the programme? PRIHATIN Kasih recipients will receive a monthly cashless allowance of RM 100 via their MyKad account for a total duration of three (3) months. For example, if the first disbursement is made on the month of July 2021, the schedule will be as follows:

When will the food aid allowance be disbursed to PRIHATIN Kasih recipients? The payment will be disbursed to the recipients’ MyKad accounts on the 1st of every month, for three (3) months.
Where can I shop for groceries under this programme? What can I purchase? Eligible recipients will be briefed on the nearest retail outlet that they can shop for essential food items. MyKasih currently has over 250 retail partners nationwide including like Mydin, Giant, Econsave, The Store, Pacific, Milimewa, 99 Speedmart, Lotus Stores (Tesco), as well as independent supermarkets and mini marts. Recipients may purchase items within 10 approved product categories ie rice, noodles, bread, biscuits, eggs, seasoning, flour, cooking oil, canned food and beverages.
What is the fund utilisation period? PRIHATIN Kasih recipients may draw upon the food aid allowance at participating retail outlets between 1st July 2021 and 31 Dec 2021. Balance funds unspent for the month will be carried forward to the following month. However, any balance funds not fully utilised within the programme period (i.e. by 31 December 2021) will be automatically forfeited.
