SK Bukit Lanjan (Asli) Annual Sport Carnival 2018
Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Lanjan (Asli) Damansara Perdana held their 35th Annual Sports Carnival yesterday (Sunday 7 October 2018) at the Desa Temuan community field adjacent to the school. The school, which is adopted by Dialog Group Berhad under the MyKasih ‘Love My School’ student bursary programme, saw 55 DIALOG staff volunteers assisting school teachers to ensure the smooth-running of the sports event. Over 180 students, from pre-schoolers to Primary Year 6, represented the 4 Sport Houses (namely Temenggung, Laksamana, Shahbandar and Bendahara) and participated in various track races and games. This is the fifth consecutive year DIALOG has been sponsoring the school since 2014. To-date, more than RM 500,000 has been channeled to the school in the form of cashless student bursaries to pay for their meals and learning necessities, UPSR study camps, Back-To-School activities, 21st century classroom transformation project, edible garden project, and numerous gotong-royong activities. The school’s ‘Lanjan Tigers’ under-12 Orang Asli rugby team is also well-supported by DIALOG , through sponsorship of their participation at district and national level tournaments. The half-day sports event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony. Temenggung House emerged as the overall champion and claimed the Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat Championship Trophy. The Bendahara House claimed the Puan Sri Jean Ngau Trophy for the most creative and well-coordinated march past. The prizes were presented by MyKasih Foundation Deputy Chairman, Jeffrey Perera, and Managing Director, Evelyn Ho, who led the delegation of volunteers.
Giant - MyKasih food aid for 50 families in Johor Bahru
50 families in Johor Bahru began receiving food support from Giant on 20 October 2016, in conjunction with the opening of Giant’s newly refurbished mall in Plentong, Johor. The launch was officiated by the Johor Princess, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim Ismail, in the presence of Mr Pierre Deplanck, Chief Executive Officer of GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. As part of Giant’s on-going corporate social responsibility with MyKasih Foundation which started in 2009, a contribution totaling RM 50,000 was made to support the 50 families for one year under the MyKasih ‘Love My Neighbourhood’ food aid programme. A separate contribution of RM 5,000 was made to Srikandi Regalia, a welfare home which cares for senior citizens and the mentally- and physically-challenged. The cheques were handed over to the respective beneficiaries by YAM Tunku Aminah at the event.
JTI Malaysia A musical tribute to Sudirman in aid of MyKasih
4 November 2016: "One Thousand Million Smiles", A Musical Tribute to Sudirman. Sudirman Hj. Arshad, known as the People's Singer and the best entertainer in the country as most Malaysians would concur, was remembered with the staging of "One Thousand Million Smiles: A Musical Tribute to Sudirman", on 4 November 2016 at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, klpac. Presented by JT International Berhad (JTI Malaysia), the premiere night of the charity gala musical was held in aid of MyKasih Foundation. Close to RM 20,000 was raised through cash donations and ticket sales. Local talents Aaron Teoh, Amir Hazril Harith, Dasha Logan, Joel Wong and Tria Aziz, performed an exciting repertoire of the late Sudirman's hit songs including "One Thousand Million Smiles", one of the numbers that won him Asia's No. 1 Performer, at the Asian Popular Music Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall, London in 1989. Sponsored by well-wishers and die-hard Sudirman fans, forty underprivileged youths from Yayasan Chow Kit had the opportunity to experience the toe-tapping show and were singing along to the classic "Chow Kit Road", which resonated strongly with them. MyKasih Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat thanked JTI Malaysia for hosting the gala night and for being such a supportive donor partner to MyKasih Foundation. klpac's unique partnership with JTI Malaysia has enabled them to stage acclaimed productions such as 'Symphonic Swing', 'Rashomon' and 'A Streetcar Named Desire', also in aid of MyKasih Foundation.
Health screening activity at Kampung Kedled, Pos Piah, Perak
With sponsorship from Bursa Malaysia Berhad, we have successfully carried out a health screening activity on Saturday 12th May 2018 at Kampung Kedled, Pos Piah, Perak, for recipients of our "Love My Neighbourhood" programme. Our utmost appreciation to Bursa Malaysia, Klinik Lawatan Pasukan Bergerak Orang Asli (PBOA) Kuala Kangsar and Klinik Pergigian Kuala Kangsar! The screenings included Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, blood glucose, tuberculosis, pap smear, as well as dental treatment performed by medical professionals. There were also talks on nutrition and hygiene to create awareness about health and wellbeing. This health screening initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, forms part of our Love My Neighbourhood programme for the MyKasih food aid recipients.
