SK Bukit Lanjan (Asli) Annual Sport Carnival 2018
Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Lanjan (Asli) Damansara Perdana held their 35th Annual Sports Carnival yesterday (Sunday 7 October 2018) at the Desa Temuan community field adjacent to the school. The school, which is adopted by Dialog Group Berhad under the MyKasih ‘Love My School’ student bursary programme, saw 55 DIALOG staff volunteers assisting school teachers to ensure the smooth-running of the sports event. Over 180 students, from pre-schoolers to Primary Year 6, represented the 4 Sport Houses (namely Temenggung, Laksamana, Shahbandar and Bendahara) and participated in various track races and games. This is the fifth consecutive year DIALOG has been sponsoring the school since 2014. To-date, more than RM 500,000 has been channeled to the school in the form of cashless student bursaries to pay for their meals and learning necessities, UPSR study camps, Back-To-School activities, 21st century classroom transformation project, edible garden project, and numerous gotong-royong activities. The school’s ‘Lanjan Tigers’ under-12 Orang Asli rugby team is also well-supported by DIALOG , through sponsorship of their participation at district and national level tournaments. The half-day sports event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony. Temenggung House emerged as the overall champion and claimed the Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat Championship Trophy. The Bendahara House claimed the Puan Sri Jean Ngau Trophy for the most creative and well-coordinated march past. The prizes were presented by MyKasih Foundation Deputy Chairman, Jeffrey Perera, and Managing Director, Evelyn Ho, who led the delegation of volunteers.
Giant - MyKasih food aid for 50 families in Johor Bahru
50 families in Johor Bahru began receiving food support from Giant on 20 October 2016, in conjunction with the opening of Giant’s newly refurbished mall in Plentong, Johor. The launch was officiated by the Johor Princess, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim Ismail, in the presence of Mr Pierre Deplanck, Chief Executive Officer of GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. As part of Giant’s on-going corporate social responsibility with MyKasih Foundation which started in 2009, a contribution totaling RM 50,000 was made to support the 50 families for one year under the MyKasih ‘Love My Neighbourhood’ food aid programme. A separate contribution of RM 5,000 was made to Srikandi Regalia, a welfare home which cares for senior citizens and the mentally- and physically-challenged. The cheques were handed over to the respective beneficiaries by YAM Tunku Aminah at the event.
Golfers swing in aid of MyKasih
140 golfers made the best out of the morning’s fair weather and excellent ground conditions at the Valley Course of the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club on 6 August 2016. The sixth annual charity golf tournament organised by MyKasih Foundation successfully raised RM 907,000 through flight sponsorships and cash donations. Dialog Group Berhad (DIALOG) was the main sponsor, having taken up a total of 10 flights worth RM 180,000. All the way from Tennessee, Paul Gould and his family, who are regular supporters of MyKasih since 2012, renewed their yearly pledge towards the charity golf event. “The success of this charity golf tournament demonstrates our donors’ belief in the programmes we deliver to improve the communities’ wellbeing. We are grateful for your continued support over the years, however there is much more that needs to be done. We hope that more companies will join us in our efforts to assist finally-burdened families in meeting their basic needs for food and education”, said Tan Sri Dr Ngau.
