UN Malaysia Awards 2018
MyKasih Foundation received the United Nations Malaysia Award 2018 this morning for significant contributions to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The awards ceremony was held at JWMarriot Kuala Lumpur today, 24 October, in conjunction with the 73rd Anniversary of the United Nations (‘UN Day’). For exemplary leadership in promoting the ‘Leaving No One Behind’ principle and reaching those furthest behind by effectively utilising an innovative technology-driven welfare distribution method to reach large numbers of Malaysians in the B40 category, the United Nations in Malaysia presented the UN Malaysia Award for this category to MyKasih Foundation. Established in 2009, MyKasih is a non-profit organisation that mobilises donor finance from public and corporate bodies towards communities who are most in need. To-date, MyKasih has assisted in the delivery of RM240 million worth of aid to more than 260,000 low-income families and students in over 400 locations nationwide, including in Sabah and Sarawak. MyKasih’s welfare distribution system has been successfully adopted by government ministries such as the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, and state governments such as Sarawak and Johor states to provide directed and targeted aid distribution. MyKasih has also played a crucial role in facilitating partnerships towards Leaving No One Behind. It teams up with companies, NGOs, social-purpose organisations and the public sector to provide health screening, entrepreneurship training and educational assistance to low income families and school-going children. Through its aid delivery and financial literacy programs, MyKasih’s work has been instrumental in assisting low-income families in Malaysia to break the cycle of poverty. For these reasons, the United Nations Malaysia Award 2018 for contributions to ‘Leaving No One Behind’ around the 2030 Agenda and SDGs is presented to MyKasih Foundation, represented by its Co-Founders, Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat and Puan Sri Jean Ngau.

Dialog Group Berhad (DIALOG) contributed manpower and RM 10,000 to support Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Lanjan's 33rd Annual Sports Day which was held on 6 November 2016 in Damansara Perdana, Selangor. As part of DIALOG's employee volunteer programme with the school which the company had adopted since 2014 through the MyKasih 'Love My School' student bursary scheme, close to 80 staff, led by the DIALOG Sports Club, volunteered as facilitators to ensure the smooth-running of the sports event. The volunteers took up tasks such as score recorders, track timekeepers, photographers, as well as coordinators for meals, sports equipment, prizes, sports houses and participants. DIALOG Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat, and his wife, Puan Sri Jean Ngau, were present that day as Guests of Honour to present the challenge trophies and prizes to the winners. The sporting event saw four colour houses competing for overall champion. Red House ('Bendahara'), Blue House ('Shahbandar'), Yellow House ('Temenggung') and Green House ('Laksamana'), were named based on the various positions within the classical Malay kingdom. Other than the usual track events, fun games and telematches included bursting balloons using a blowpipe, gunny-sack run, lawn bowling, gorilla run, and tug-of-war.
