Post-Disaster Relief

When floods, fires, or other natural disasters disrupt lives, MyKasih Foundation’s Post-Disaster Relief programme steps in — helping families rebuild and recover what has been lost.

Once recovery efforts take hold and communities regain stability, each selected household receives a one-off RM500 cashless aid, disbursed via their MyKad. This accords them the freedom to purchase essential items that best meet their family’s needs, from partner retail outlets across the country.

The categories of items are:

Food

Rice, cooking oil, noodles, biscuits, bread, eggs, flour, canned foods (e.g. sardines), seasonings (e.g. sugar, soy sauce, ketchup), beverages (e.g. coffee, tea, infant milk powder, malted drinks, cereal drinks, condensed milk)

Non-Food

Living & dining items (e.g. plates, kitchen utensils, crockery), beds & mattresses, electrical appliances (e.g. basic kitchen stoves, rice cookers, table fans), hygiene products (e.g. soaps, detergents, diapers and feminine hygiene products)

Schooling Essentials

School uniform, bags, shoes and socks, water bottles and lunch boxes, books and stationery

For each category, recipients have the flexibility to choose from a range of brands, allowing them to manage their budget and prioritise their needs.

Through this system, donors can be assured that every ringgit contributed to the Post-Disaster Relief programme is always channelled in full to recipients.
