Food Aid

As our flagship programme, this food aid initiative is typically our first touchpoint with communities.

When entrusted with a contribution from a donor, we begin work by identifying potential recipient families through government welfare agencies, NGOs, and/or social-impact organisations. Eligibility is based on household income, number of dependents, and asset ownership.

Next, each eligible family nominates one member whose MyKad will be linked to the MyKasih system. A monthly allowance will be credited to that national identity card or a MyKasih smartcard. Now, the amount can be used at participating retail outlets to purchase groceries from an approved list. This includes items such as rice, cooking oil, beverages, biscuits, eggs, flour, seasoning, canned food, noodles and bread.

For recipients of this assistance, the autonomy to decide what and when to buy provides agency and flexibility in their daily lives. It reduces the stigma often tied to receiving aid, while helping families manage their needs quietly and confidently.

For donors, every ringgit is traceable. Our cashless system provides full transparency, with audit trails and real-time reports accessible via a secure portal. Each purchase transaction by the recipient is protected by PIN verification, and a unique barcode system ensures only approved items are purchased.
